We Three Kings  
Audio-Video Story: We Three Kings .. KDM  
Most folk music, uses sheet music as a notional idea, and in the “Celtic-  
Folk music” genre the arrangements generally follow 8-bar segments.  
The KDM tries to avoid embellishments, accidentals, incidentals,  
voicing, or other orchestration notation, as a “Keep it Simple” directive.  
The KDM initiative places the focus on being able to play the  
arrangements using the six-hole whistles, but allows any other  
instrument as well.  
All the tunes and songs are played with live, acoustic instruments, and  
the musicians who participate follow this sheet music to create the audio  
in the Keltoi-Studio.  
In this music selection, Shaun Young used an Irish-tuned, low octave  
mandolin (aka “Irish Bouzouki”), a Kerry Mezzo C whistle, and an MK1  
Low-C whistle.  
Earnie Taft provided the fiddle melody and harmony parts, giving it an  
eerie, other-worldly sound.
